Re: Read the Fine Print !
I agree with Fi about the crop.
In addition, the image appears a bit flat, even tho there is the start of blown highlights at the back of her head. Finally, I think that the slats of the bench should be horizontal, but am not certain. And yes, this shot has a story A sad one, but nonetheless a story.skip |

Re: Read the Fine Print !
First of all, a computer monitor cannot possibly do justice to the sharpness that is present in the original image. But I am reminded of a college professor that took a sheet of white paper and placed two small tiny black dots on the page. He asked the class, what is this ? WHAT DO YOU SEE ? One by one they all made a comment, on what it was, and everyone made some mention of the two spots. that were very tiny. The professor kept telling them No, No, your NOT LOOKING, In frustration not knowing what to say, one student jumped up and said.. I know what it is ! The student exclaimed.. much to everyone's surprise.. '"it is just a sheet of paper" THE "WHOLE " point of this image is NOT SAD, .. not in my twenty years of gazing at this precious woman, whomever she was. I had a split second if that, from very far away to even capture this much of a wonderful woman THAT CAN STILL READ, thanks to technolgies that assist her vision. ![]() |

Re: Read the Fine Print !
Sad from the point of view that macular degeneration or some other disease has robbed her of the ability to read easily.
I agree that the compression and monitor change the image in unappealing ways, and sometimes it is difficult to separate that artifact from a real problem. skip |
