Re: Red Maple
this is lovely, the contrast between the bronze of the leaf and the green of the background just sets it off perfectly, if i had to pick something ( and it wouldnt be a critique if i didint!
) i would probably have angled the leaf more on the diagonal so tht the stem came right out of the corner and the tip pointing right intot he centre of the pic.Otherwise a great shot! Fi |

Re: Red Maple
Well I'm colourblind so no point in me talking about the contrast of the maple and the fern!
Nothing major to criticise - on the off chance its not just my genes and the contrast in tones is not that great then you could try and widen the gap somehow. There's a little spot bottom centre where the background is betrayed, not a major criticism but you could try slotting some in focus leaf in there to plug it up. |

Re: Red Maple
Nichpr don't tell me the leaves are already changing up there in Michigan? I always thought the state I'm in was the first for cold and frost-
As for your picture I really think you did well on it. I would have liked to see more shadows on the top of the ferns. But I'm a shadow person. I think you did well in showing the curves and softness of the ferns with the hardness of the leaf. |

Re: Red Maple
I think this is lovely Paul and well composed. I would prefer a stop lighter but that might be the colour profile making it darker on here. The contrast is great and the sharpness is good across the plane. Other than lightening it slightly I love it just as it is :o)
