Reflections

Some more stuff from the Brathay.
"Reflections" for obvious reasons.
I also liked the rising mist and the pink hues, due to the rising sun, of the few clouds.

Does the lower left foreground detract ?

Sorry about the frame EosD.

Settings - See left of frame plus tripod, ND Grad, mirror lock and cable release.

This is a great shot Cameron.
No complaints about the framing from me.

That is a beautiful, beautiful image.

Very pleasing to the eye and a different blend of colours to what I'm used to seeing.

The grass itself doesn't detract for me but the seed heads going into the reflection do a little bit. But again, it's such a minor detail in another great shot

Lovely shot. I'm not really a fan of frames I tend to use either a simple line border or nothing, but I find myself liking this frame, apart from the inner drop shadow, while I do like the drop shadow on the frame itself.

oddly enough the frame works well on this picture, im sure that on a wall this would look fantastic, though the only niggle for me is the sky going from a lovely blue to white at the top right

Very nice indeed. However, the foreground is a bit bright and overpowers the shot slightly.

It's a very good picture but I agree with JoeT - the foreground is a bit bright and if it was a bit darker that clump of grass might not be as distracting as I find it.

I think this is a great shot. Your led right in to the landscape and kept there by the very good compo.

Truley fabulous shot.

The only comments I can make are into the finer percentages of improvement. The clump of grass at the bottom would balance more with the trees if it was a little darker and the three heads of grass would sit in the comp better if the camera was an inch or two higher to keep them below the line of the bank.

All fairly small points, I could lose days gazing at that one.

I think personaly I would try and ditch the clump of grass at the lower left altogether, It stops your eye following the natural lead-in of the river and de-emphasises the reflection of the trees as it's very close to them visually. Cover it up with your hand and notice the difference.

Other than that, truly brilliant. I'd probably pay to have it on my wall and I'm VERY sniffy about things like that!

Great shot, I would have made it a fraction darker for my taste but then that is just my taste, (usually wrong).
I notice you use a 1d mk2, any chance you could pm me with your thoughts on the camera as I may well be purchasing 1 soon?

How about posting your thoughts on the forum then everyone can benefit rather than keeping them to just you two by PM.

Maybe into the thread that was already started by Gary here

That’s why I set up the site, to share free info amongst everyone.

Thanks for all the kind words and advice on how to improve the shot, I appreciate it.

Gary, I read your post last night and decided to PM you tomorrow ( my day off ).

I think, however, Steve is right and I will post my thoughts on this camera tomorrow on your original thread, as suggested by Steve. ( Been up since 4:30 this morning so too tired to do it tonight. )

Bear in mind this will be a short what I like and don't like about this camera and not an in depth review.
If, however, you have any other questions feel free to PM me.

Regards,
Cameron
