Resting Frisbee
I saw this frisbee sitting on a park bench, but I was more interested in the lines of the bench with the shape and color of the frisbee. How did I do, be honest. I can take it

Re: Resting Frisbee
Really like the lines of the bench and the luminescent frisbee - less keen on the arm of the bench

Re: Resting Frisbee
A really interesting image! I think the colour harmony of greens and blue (from sky) work really well. The graphic nature of the image gives it strong impact. I like the arm of the bench since it gives a second but more subtle circular shape echoing the frisbee. Since this second shape is in the vertical plane it contrasts well with the frisbee shape.
The only thing I don't like is the final gap in the back of the plastic seat on the left side. Is it possible to make a fine crop of this side to 'clean up' the geometry of the gaps, even if you have to clone out any residual holes? This kind of image is right up my street but making graphic images like this appears to be easy but in fact is very difficult requiring a keen eye and compositional control. You definitely have the eye, now lets see more of the visual control by fine-tuning the composition! Cheers Les |

Re: Resting Frisbee
Its very interesting on the differences in opinion concerning the curve of the arm of the bench. I like that.
When I took this picture I was looking at the color of the frisbee against the black of the bench and the curves/lines seemed to go along with the frisbee. I was just so lucky to come across this frisbee just laying on the bench ![]() Les, I cropped the picture the way I think you were talking about. I most definitely see what you were talking about in the cropped version I submitted. And you are so right. Why I didn't pick up on that I do not know, but I will be much more observant next time. Taking/seeing the picture is somewhat easy for me--cropping is a project that takes alot of time If this isn't what you were talking about in the cropping I hope you will let me know. ![]() |

Re: Resting Frisbee
I love the idea here Mary and you've photographed it very well. No idea about the cropping as you've edited the priginal instead of leaving it so we can see the difference. Maybe worth considering showing both another time as some of us won't have seen it when you first posted.
I think the only improvement I can suggest is I would have stood the frisbee up against the arm (it would stand with its edge in one of the slots without any problem) as this would have given a more dynamic shape than a flat frisbee and would have lifted the bright green onto more of a third rather than being below the bottom quarter line. Great idea and very well seen. Cheers, Rob
