Re: Rhino

Not much cop at critique Fi but I do like the image and the processing .......the only minor niggle I would have is the ear movement but I know they flick them rather quickly

Re: Rhino

thanx for that...... i love the way they seem to be lying so tenderly against each other which makes a huge contrast to the big mean animals they seem to be usually.

Re: Rhino

Awww... that's cute. Well, if something that weighs a ton and looks like it needs a major nip'n'tuck can look cute. ( Vicar of Dibley..... )

Great composition too IMO.

Re: Rhino

Think the BG is a little distracting - it's all about the one rhino against the other. Lost some of the 2nd rhino but it's there by association (so, I don't think you need the shape)

Crop, burn BG, dodge detail

Re: Rhino

That's good it. I knew there was something irking me about this Fi but I couldn't put my finger on it. I knew I didn't like the light strip along the top but wasn't sure it could be removed. Mark has shown it can, very effectively. Love the new one, which is mostly down to your work Fi, you captured the rhinos excellently, was just the crop that was needed. Must say the crop and burning has made a difference as well, it really stands out as a picture now. Funnily enough I can see that now selling as a postcard at the zoo, no sweat at all!

Lovely stuff.
Cheers,
Rob

Just email a small version to them and ask whether they would like to use it in any way, postcard, guide book or marketing literature as you're pleased with it. And, if so, to let you know what size to send the version for them to use - and then ask them what kind of budget they have to purchase pics

Re: Rhino

Fi, they can only say no! If you write to them they don't know you from Adam so it isn't a problem if they write back and say no. But a lot of my sales come from trialling first. I just print a few and take them to the location and ask them to sell them and keep all the money themselves. If they sell, they can consider giving me an order or buying the pics off me or whatever. If they don't sell, fair enough, I can take them back or they can keep them as they wish.

I think I get about 70% follow up sales by doing that which is pretty good. And if it's people like the Red Arrows who don't want to sell anything that isn't taken by their own people then fine, I go up on the cliff top and sell my own to ther crowds and take every penny for myself instead of them getting a share. I should point out I do that with their permission... but I do NOT have to. They have absolutely no claim on any pictures I take whether it be of their planes or not. The only people I have to consider are the council if I am selling in public as there are rules and things regarding that.

My point though is that you'll be amazed at what sells and the fact is if you show a pic on here and people like it, people out there will like it as well.... even more so because on here people are a lot more picky and critical: that's what we are here for

You have already sold pics and yours are ample good enough to sell plenty more.

Cheers,
Rob
