I guess quality has suffered due to the small file size so you've lost most of the swan detail but the comp looks nice enough

You're right, this is my first picture posted for critique and I compressed the jpg too much. I'll repost it tonight, thanks for your comments. I reckon less comments means less love for the photo

I like the comp very much but I would prefer fg swans sharper they seems soft/out of focus. Could be compression loss referred to above.

nah...they are soft due to shutter speed and focus. I've updated it but it's still let down technically, this was a stock reject. It was a chance composition, I was holding the camera at arms length over the river below the edge of the bank, and shot a series of about 6 on continous low speed. But the lack of light has resulted in a lack of depth of field and camera shake so it's no good. By the time I found a parking space the sun had gone, better luck next time...August has not offered many opportunities!
