Re: Sadness
I like the effect, Jewel, but I'm uncertain as to whether it's a person or a statue. I'm no expert on this type of shot but maybe a touch more contrast and is it worth cloning out the marks on the arms.

Re: Sadness
I like the overall effect, but not sure about the border on two sides only. Nothing to keep the eye in the shot on this side.
I think you need to do several versions with varying contrast to see what works best, but I bet you will end up with something near this one. An unusual and well thought out shot |

Re: Sadness
This one caught my eye in the gallery, so that's one positive indication
![]() I think you've got the high key effect just right I agree with Stepheno that a bit of smoothing out of blemishes on the arms, neck + face would remove distracting elements. Composition - again, just right Don't like the border, mainly because you've put the heavy side on the side which the angel is facing towards. Maybe if it was on the other side, i.e. LHS, it would look better. Or just a plain line framing the angel, rather than a bevel, would suit better, because you want all attention to be focused on the image, whereas if you have too striking a border you'll have viewers trying to decide whether or not they like the border, which then turns it into a distraction. Overall it's very well done, you did a great job. Just those two distracting elements (blemishes + border) need attention.

Re: Sadness
Great Job Jewel
I like it and it seems to me by the shape of the hair it is a statue if not you did a better job making it seem like it is. other than the blemishes Charlotte mentioned I think it works fine |

Re: Sadness
Nice picture and processing. Some have already commented aboutthe lack of a frame on the left and top which I thing would help. I wish I could see slightly more of the hair. Just a touch more contrast in that area would help I think
