Re: School House
I am not sure here but if you had stepped two paces to the right, would you have got separation between the ends of the FG buildings and those in the BG? That would have been useful compositionally.
Otherwise this is good, works very nicely. Did you leave this as an RGB mono deliberately to keep a sense of warmth? I just wonder as it has left the range of tones a tad flat. I don't usually convert to greyscale but it does give a more stark image in this case. I thought I'd just switch it and see so it's here for your perusal. A slight S curve as well but deliberately kept it fairly dark as I am sure that is what you would prefer :o) Cheers, Rob

Re: School House
thanx Rob, i did actually have it like that to begin with then decided to try something a bit different so i added a light sepia filter to it.
i dont think i could have gone any fiurther right as i didint want anything in the image and steping to the right would have brought people and cars into it...... i know i could have removed them but i thoght i would go for not having them in the first place....... Alan says " if its a step to the left and a jump to the right does it make this a time warp?" lolol Fi |

Re: School House
I like the first one with the sepia tint better, you did well not to get any distractions in it.

Re: School House
Hi Fi
I like your shot, and you know what I think makes it? The reflection in the upper window facing you. That just adds so much to the image. I agree that a different view to separate the buildings would have helped. Robs quick pimp has too much shadow in the foreground I think. skip |

Re: School House
I was only keeping it dark for Fiona as I know she tends to go for that sort of look. I originally had it a lot lighter but thought 'Hmmm, Fiona, graveyards.... darker!'

Re: School House
A step to the right would've helped the roofline come out of the corner too, as well as achieve that seperation!
Prefer without the sepia but Rob's is too dark to my eye, losing too much detail Think that it's possible that a perspective correction might look better, tho' at the price of maybe losing too much on LHS |
