Scotlands Secret Bunker

had a trip up to Fife today and took the bairn to Scotlands Secret Bunker....... this was the HQ for the nuclear "watchdog" if u like..........

this image is the access tunnel which runs 100 ft underground and is 150 ft long....... im quite pleased with this as the lighting is as you see it and i had to hand hold the cam!
feel free to rip to shreds...........

Re: Scotlands Secret Bunker

Good capture in difficult circumstances Fi

Did you intend the green cast or was it a fortunate accident? Presume WB not ajusted or deliberately not set for the lighting. It gives an impression that Dr Who will be appearing at the end of the corridor!

Other than applauding your skill in getting the shot, I have to say it does not do much for me as an image. It is bordering on the modern/abstract, and I'm wondering if a crop of the top from the top of the LH wall and the bottom from about halfway up the LH wall might add some impact by removing a lot of the 'dead' space.

Or worse ... a dalek

Interesting idea Fiona, + you captured a good sense of perspective here Otherwise I'm with Graham on this. It's a pity the far end of the corridor is out of focus. It's squonk, thus losing the symmetry it looks like it should have, having all those straight lines, + especially noticeable is the ceiling sliding off to the left. It has a decidedly "rushed" look about it, whereas with all those straight lines in it, it does need a bit more precision to get it looking good.

The idea for a pic is there, but the tell-tale signs of hand-holding do show in this one. If you've got the raw, you can fix the WB, but if you get the chance to shoot this again I'd try propping the cam on the floor (bolster up the lens end to get a view down the centre + a bit of ceiling) if you can't take a tripod, + stop down to smallest aperture for max DoF.

All in all, I kinda like the idea in principle, + would like to see your next attempt

Remember! Wikipedia is your friend!

I'm assuming that possibly Charlotte is talking about the rotate it needs

Squonk
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It is a very ugly creature, and it knows this. Its skin is ill-fitting, and covered with warts and other blemishes, therefore the squonk hides from being seen, and spends much of its time weeping sorrowfully over its own ugliness.

But it sounds so cool in comparison to rotate.

Charlotte - for some serious squonk, see my last post in your Got Nowhere thread.

As long as it's not green, I think I'm safe
