Re: shadow
Kind of an interesting image. One wonders what the boy is doing? Is he running, walking? What is he looking at off to the right in that shadowed area? If he is walking/running, his arms are not in the natural position for that. Is he deep in thought? Imagining stuff? Ah, the things childhood is made of.
In general, I really don't like photos of people backs. Their fronts are so much more interesting. But this works pretty well. I like the angle created by the boy and his shadow, directing the viewers eye back to the boy. I am not certain that the bg works this dark...a bit of lighening might be better. Anyway, a pretty nice photo. Want to see more of your images. skip |

Re: shadow
i actually like this image. it is very thought provoking, agree with skip the bg could be lightened up a tad. and the other thing i would have done perhaps would have been to take it from a lower angle

Re: shadow
I am happy enough with the back view as I can see him running towards the rubbish bin (hoping that he's going to put something in it rather than on the floor!) but I agree I generally prefer the front view.
The only bit that really doesn't work for me is the strong shadow at the bows left wrist as this is looking like a dark wedge that cuts away part of his arm and looks like his wrist is impossibly thin! But I like the treatment and with a very small lift of the darkest parts I think this would work really well. Cheers, Rob
