Re: Shadows Of Giants
Interesting study of shadows and trees, tho' find that horizontal ?step in the lower right breaks the shadow. I'd prefer it less 50:50 too but that's a minor niggle

Re: Shadows Of Giants
Agree with Mark about the step, if you'd tilted the camera up just a little to remove the step, the horizon would be on a third and we'd see more of the trees. But a good study of light and shade.

Re: Shadows Of Giants
I have to say, the way this opened on my screen I really liked it. Then I realised there was more on the bottom of the picture so scrolled down.... and the bottom half did nothing for me whatsoever. I think this is a really eye-catching picture if cropped to just an inch of the ground below the trees. The rest doesn't add anything, the lines go in a different direction and just confuse the eye.
The top two thirds are lovely ![]() Cheers, Rob |

Re: Shadows Of Giants
It is a very nice picture... good feeling of texture and space, and the shadows play nicely into your vision and perception of that space. The step in the front is the only thing that breaks your eyes from the frame, and could probably be cloned out fairly easily. Otherwise I really like it, it has a soft, serious appeal.
