Re: Shady Walk
Hey, I like this Jack
Two small suggestions: It seems a little oversaturated. The trees on the RHS are a tad too dark so as to be distractingly so IMO. Good work! |

Re: Shady Walk
thanks for the comments. Charlotte, perhaps you're right about it being over saturated, although I don't think so, but it's more of a personal thing. However, I don't think the trees are too dark, they aren't bright but they don't look underexposed to me; be interesting to see what others say...

Re: Shady Walk
Jack , tress rhs look boarder line , could be monitor issue on mine it could do with being a bit lighter
nice shot , perhaps a tighter crop at top for a more pano shot to get rid of houses at top?? |

Re: Shady Walk
I like the composition, If you turn it into MONO you don't have to worry about cropping the RHS. IMO it helps to give nostalgic feeling to it.
I'm not going to comment on the colors because I like it Mono better. This is my type of Image. Well done Jack |

Re: Shady Walk
Thanks for the comments, Andrew, I wasn't sure whether or not to crop more from the top, but I thought it might be a little too much in terms of pano shape....
![]() Sotelo, I have tried a mono, which I also like a lot, but I really like (especially at full size) the orangey green tones on the LHS which obviously are lost in mono. Will post the mono version in a sec ![]() Last edited by JMitchell : 07-04-2008 at 11:30. |

Re: Shady Walk
I like the idea a lot and I think the colours are OK. I like well saturated pictures.
My first impression was that the right side was too dark and the house at the top looked a bit out of place. I was going to suggest that you crop the right side and a bit of the top but then the figures would be too off centre. So I then though you could crop the left side as well. When I played with that I did not think it looked as good as the original so I would leave it as it is. That was a lot of words to say do nothing to it Perhaps if you can shoot it again you could get the people further away and then crop it ?

Re: Shady Walk
The original colour version is much better in my opinion. But then I am not a fan of most mono pictures.

Re: Shady Walk
I agree with you, although I think the mono has some qualities in its own right, it doesn't stand up to the colour one.

Re: Shady Walk
this is nice, but i agree about the over saturation, not sure if i have ever seen grass quite that green.
I do prefer the mono version but that may be just personal preference, definately tons better than your set in the sharing thread. Fi |
