okies, have taken on board the different suggestions..... may not have used them all but i did what i thought was to the benefit of the image.... so.......... is this any better

I think this one is much better

Now, looking at this version, I'm wondering if the small amount of wall texture could also be removed as it differs on each side of the post. I did think about this before, but with the other things that did not set right for me, it was in the back of my mind.

If it were removed from both sides of the post, the ends of the casings would start to merge into the background and perhaps would add to the hi key effect?

thanx Graham, I did actually think of doing this, I also thought about getting rid of the middle bit as well......... in fact might do it right now! lol

ok I know i am not supposed to load more than one image to the critique board, but i am hoping that as its another version of the same pic that i can get away with it

I like this one better than the others. The post did not really add anything for me, and this one is both abstract and subjective.

I suppose the next step is selective colour on one of the shells.

Didn't realize how much that bg provided until I see this one without. So, its version 2 for me. Really like the skewed frame - adds to the effect.

It is so cool how everyone has a different opinion.

I like #3 the best, it seems a bit more abstract and cleaner, but I don't like the skewed frame.

spose that is the great thing about photography and pixalo.... we can all state our tastes and enjoy others!
thanx all, im kinda swaying between 1 and 2 myself..... not keen on this one... i think if this had been the first i would have liked it best tho............does that make sense! ?

totally agree , plus it gives different techniques etc to try and also what other people see when viewing pics

unfortunately doesnt matter how i look at these , i see nothing that appeals to me as a viewer , could be just the angle or height that you have taken . Personally i would have gone in close and then had it lead out similar to what you have done , but lot closer.
Sorry fi it just dont do anything.
