I'm not a fan of smoke shots but this looks pretty good - think I'd prefer a little more simplicity colour-wise (you've a complex pattern/shape so think a single colour might suit it better)

It was only when I read Mark's comment and then went back up to read the title that I realised this was actually smoke, it doesn't look like the smoke shots we have seen before. That is no bad thing necessarily of course, always interesting to see different ideas. I can't say the image strikes me as being strong enough to grab my attention, it might be that the full sized version makes a greater impact.

I think the thing is to me is that it is so overly liquified and coloured that it no longer looks like a photo at all and could have been created in Photoshop without ever resorting to a camera. wonder whether you might have others that you have tried where the liguifying effect is used with a little more restraint so that we can still see the essential part of the image underneath the effects work? Would be interesting to see if you have.

As per my comment in the photo sharing thread, this is all fun and pretty but it isn't a photo so is somewhat out of place on a photo critique thread. Graphic art is a separate skill and sometimes we use those skills to enhance or manipulate a photo which all has its validity. Maybe there is room for a separate thread for graphic art which is made without the use of photography but that is for the crew to decide.

Good idea Rob I think it would be good to have a thread for Graphic Art.

Since most of us use some type of photo editing and the software isn't limited to just editing photos it would be nice to see Pixalo add it to its web site.

Many people use their software to do graphic art or graphic are upon their photos.

So Pixalo what do you think?

Gah to my eye this is horrible!It doesn't look like it origionated from a picture or is even smoke but if it's derived from a real smoke photo it would be interesting to see it.
