Good for a quick snap though, even though the foreground is more than a little distracting

there is nothing wrong with snapshots, my entire collection is mainly snaps....

You really need to be more perceptive and plan a little better. The sunset is great but the foreground information is not doing the picture justice. For this picture to work it needs to have a good balance of interest, the sky/sunset is a great but it lacks a subject to bring out the best. A lone flying kite, a tree, a bench, a family or person walking by, all would add the extra element that is required to make this work.
