Soft Icecream
Hi all.
![]() Took this shot of my son a couple of weeks ago. Does the lens flare detract? Does the treatment help with the flare? Or should I go - damn - lens flare and bin it!! TIA for your advice .. Cathie |

Re: Soft Icecream
If you are referring to the out of focus background when you say lens flare, it is a completely normal, and often sought after effect in portraits. However, the brightness is a distraction in the top of the frame.
Was this more what you are thinking of?

Re: Soft Icecream
Thanks Dabhand.
So the flare on the rhs of his hat/forehead mustn't be all that distracting. With your rework and looking at it in the cold hard daylight, it does look a little soft for a portrait of a little boy with a dirty face!! Back to the drawing board. |

Re: Soft Icecream
Cathie, you have a fun image there and definitely not one for the bin. That flar doesn't worry me too much but the bright top left does. Graham has muted that down and now it is fine so you've got yourself a picture full of character there
![]() The viewer's eye will naturally tend to be drawn towards the brightest point in a picture first of all and so here the eye goes right up to the top left and not to where we want to focus our attention. But a little bit of processing to dumb the brightspots down a touch has sorted it and given us a little charmer so well done ![]() Rob
