Re: Solar verses power

This is an unusual image as it is bereft of any subject detail other than this pylon which I would ordinarily not want to take a picture of. However, here it has been positioned perfectly in the most powerful part of the sky and the angle gives it a rather ominous, almost foreboding feel.

Funnily enough, I commented on a picture a few weeks back about how someone's photo had reminded me of a poem by the late Sir John Betjeman, former Poet Laureate here in the UK, called 'Inexpensive Progress'. This one does it even more because of the stark contrast between the ugly man-made pylon and the stunning beauty of the sunset sky and the silhouetted hills. I'll just type the first stanza again as I think you'll see what I mean....

'Encase you legs in nylons,
Bestride your hills with pylons,
Oh age without a soul.
Away with gentle willows,
And all the elmy billows,
That through your valleys roll.'

(Sir John Betjeman)

Striking image vk, well done.

Cheers,
Rob
