Re: Statue

The lighting is wonderful. The softness of the statue and the sharpness of the pictograph give me a sense of balance.

Re: Statue

Oooooo, I love all the hard lines behind the softness of Eve. She looks afraid, and all of those hard lines appear to be bombarding her, heightening that sense of dread.

Is there any way you could remove the post growing out of her head?

Re: Statue

I like this as the lighting is excellent. It is well above average for this subject. The only improvements I could suggest is that I would remove both posts which could be done easily without affecting the main subject.

Re: Statue

Fi, I like this shot a lot.
One thing that caught my eye, however, was the lighting on her feet. It would seem to me that the light on her feet should be more similar to that falling on the left hand side of the pedestal base she is sitting on - i.e. more in shadow.
Did you dodge her feet? Maybe a bit of dodging on the pedestal base would even things out.

Re: Statue

thanx all, i will have another look at removing the poles....... didint even notice the one growing outher head!
Paul, no i didint touch her feet. and the lighting in this shot is literally as it was I havent changed the lighting or added any to it.... can have a look at burning her feet but i think the light on her feet balances out the light hitting the front of her thighs?

Thanx all

Re: Statue

Very good tonal range, Fi.

I feel that the bg is too busy for the statue, though. Takes the focus off of her. Might work with a blur, though.

Re: Statue

I really like it too. The mono works very well and there is good clarity in the detail. I think it is slightly skewed to the left which could be straightened and i would be tempted to get rid of the grass at the front, but other than that i think this is a fine image.

Re: Statue

Nice one Fi Best with poles out, and the BG does not bother me. But the crop is too tight for me at the bottom as it cuts across the bottom of the pedestal.

What about adding some grass down there?
