Re: Street Mist

christmas day must be a barrel of laughs round yours

I really like this, I think the haze serves to lend depth to an otherwise flat composition.

Framing it as you have without any of the street in works well. I think this has the same quality as telephoto landscapes in condensing a lot into a single image.

Re: Street Mist

Thanks MB! You've basically explained what I did perfectly! That's what I was aiming for, the 'telephoto-condensed' look.
NOt sure I've portrayed my street in a very happy light....it is, honest!

EDIT: And that haze is REAL! It's very very misty for some reason.....

Re: Street Mist

Yeah I didn't mean to word it like you'd inserted the haze, more that you'd used it to your advantage in seeing the photo.

Re: Street Mist

I think this is one of those shots where you have achieved exactly what you set out to achieve though the result is not necessarily that great. I just don't find the picture holds my attention at all as there is nothing of any real interest in it. Half of the foreground is dominated by the tree but it doesn't have anything to warrant that IMHO.

But as I said, the interest per se is not what yu were trying to achieve, you have captured the haze and got the compressed look you wanted so well done on that.

Cheers,
Rob
