Sunrise in Spain
Normally i hate getting up early and if there is photography to be had in low-light conditions my general preference is to do it in the evening. However as i was on hoilday with in-laws and the kids etc. I thought there is nothing else for it other than to be out of the way before anyone knew i was missing (just wished i'd had breakfast first then i wouldn't have needed to get back so early lol).
This is one of the few touristy pictures i took and it is from a town called Sitges just 40km out of Barcelona (where we were staying). ![]() |

Re: Sunrise in Spain
Don't think this really needs anything but thought I'd have a look at "improving"
![]() Dodged the rest of the houses to give the church some lit company (bit messy, I'm afraid!). Grad'd the sky from top left - there's a lot of it (sky) and it then has some variance. Upped the saturation a touch. sharpened to bring out the lit areas a little more And, for the record, I'm a sunrise person - prefer the light! ![]() |

Re: Sunrise in Spain
Cheers for that Markulous, I definitely prefer the sky on your version, i think it does need to be a little darker over in that top left corner to balance it with the dark cloud on the top right.
The houses i am not too sure about, but i do think (after seeeing yours) that the block to the left of the church could go a little lighter. Thanks, it's always good to see what other people do with your images and it also gives a good visual aid on how it will look better! |

Re: Sunrise in Spain
Thanks! Agree re. houses - seemed a good idea at the time (and excuse is that I only had low res to work with - lights look OK, it's the houses themselves that don't)!
![]() Was slightly worried that darkening the sky might take away from that lovely sweep of cloud |
