Re: sunset
I guess you figured it out then!!
It's a lovely sunset and I like the silhouette of the trees. My only comment would be that it could do with a little more sky at the top and a little less of the black foreground. |

Re: sunset
I agree with Angela. It is a very nice image with great tones, but the composition could be improved by cropping the bottom substantially.

Re: sunset
I really cant add more sky. As you can see in the upper left hand corner the power lines come in.
Thanks for the comments! |

Re: sunset
Most sunset shots fill the frame with the flaming sky. I find this one more dramatic simply because the bright red sky contrasts so well with the black FG. I like this unexpected composition.

firstly sorry i cant help you with that , as i have no idea .Sure someone will be able to help you out . The photo is brilliant ,I totally disagaree with cropping more off the bottom. I feel with how it is , my eyes go for a walk from the bottom to the outstanding sunset view at top ,Personaly i dont think you need do anything ,the black complements the top.Love the colours on sunset, actually i just think WOW to the overall shot |

Re: sunset
I pretty much disagree with those who like all the black. I don't think that it really adds anything.
However, it seems like you really have two images here: the houses on the left and the trees on the right. If you cropped out some of the dark forground and separated the images into "tree" and "houses" pictures, I think that you would have much stronger images. skip |

Re: sunset
Point taken. I do not have photo shop yet. There will be a learning curve using that software as well. You can look in my gallery and see some other photos in the same location to get some different views. Thanks for all the comments!

Re: sunset
Nice image would crop a little at bottom and tone down the roof on the building in the centre, my eyes keeps falling on it, nice sunset though.

Re: sunset
Hey Steve - I only used the cloning tool for my effort - most editing software will have this facility.

Re: sunset
I have got to agree with the 'much less black' brigade, it is too heavy and makes the sky seem small and less significant when in fact it is supposed to be the picture. I would defintiely have pointed the camera up to compose it much as Graham's cloned pic. I would definitely not have worried about a few power lines as they are easy to clone out without much effort and with pretty much any editing software.
But just to make the point about too much black, this is your image with most black cut away, I think most will agree the image works much better.... ![]() Cheers, Rob

, You can look in my gallery as I have several different shots of this setting. I knew this was missing something. Turns out it had too much of something. Thanks for the perspective!Steve |
