I took this shot over the weekend after a Tea Party. i'm so green at this that I don't even know what details to tell you about it. i use a 4 year old HP 945 Photosmart camera. I had it set on the micro mode and I've learned enough to know not to use the flash. I was adjacent to a large window for more natural light. I'm just looking for any kind of feedback on everything. Like i said, I'm very green at photography!

Well, green you may be, but I certainly think you've an eye for a shot. There is something really homely and soothing about this and the background is a good complimentary colour.
I think with such a narrow depth of field, maybe if the middle cup was slightly tilted up and the focus on the rose design it would look nicely balanced, but to be honest, I rather like it.

Thank you! I was going to look over my CC's and then re-shoot, but the cups belong to my mother and she just came by and picked them up. Maybe I have something else around here that I can substitute...

I love cups as subjects, especially old ones. I did a series once of them using different teas, chrysanthamum tea is good as the dried flowers open.
