testing xmas presents!
received a Nikon D50 for xmas, and got myself a Sigma 18-200mm F3.5 - 6.3 lens to go with...
I was trying to emulate some of the close up shots of eye's that have been posted, and this is one i took last night of myself (camera on tripod, me with remote shutter release!) I am pleased with the results, but any critique is welcome! happy new year! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9.../other/eye.jpg |

I really like this shot, loads of detail in the eye.

Nice shot! The only thing I might have changed would be to increase the saturation and lightness of the iris to bring it out more. But that's my own personal choice

thanks for the comments guys...
Happy with the camera and lens, but a long way to go on the learning curve! adjusted brightness & saturation as suggeted - too much?

such a beautful eye....I love the skin tones of the original and the colour of the latter one....I might have to go and get my(his) macro lens out!

That's getting there, but I would have just made those adjustments to the iris using a layer mask. I feel the tone of the rest of the eye in the first shot was fine.
If you don't mind I'll edit it and show you what I mean |
