Re: Texture
Like all things, it's good to see something different. Can't say that this treatment really works for me - maybe more of a 'painting' effect would work better?. Nicely comp'd image tho'!

Re: Texture
I have tried to play around with this sort of effect on occasions. Some work better than others. My first impression when I looked at this was that it was a very noisy picture not that it had had a effect applied to it. It does not work for me I am afraid. The original image looks like it would be a good one as well.

Re: Texture
The film grain is on purpose, I still like this and think I will push it on, the grain was added last, I am looking for a texture that will be covered with a clear acrlyic coating after mounting on a hard back. Very close, would like a noise that is more shadow. and not wanting to do brushing in selected area's, but it looks like I will. More comments welcome, I know there are fans of grain and noise texture out there?

Re: Texture
I hope you come up with something that you like. I look forward to seeing the final result.

Re: Texture
Think this might be one of those processes which looks much better 'live' rather than virtual on a screen

Re: Texture
I'm not to sure about the effect. I don't like the grainy bit I think.

Re: Texture
I'm afraid I am also on the 'not for me' side of this effect. Good on you for trying a texture but this one really doesn't like like a subtle grain effect, it just looks like an overly compressed noisy picture that has lost too much detail. I think the original was a decent picture but the addition of heavy noise / grain has made a fairly busy picture look even busier and that isn't helping. Compositionally it's a nice shot though so it might be worth trying a different texture for this?
