After each of my daughters Birthdays I like to get some prints done of her & write a thankyou note on the back to everyone who gave her a pressie. This year Libby has turned 4 (although in some phot's I'd swear she was older ) .

Took this photo today whilst grabbing some lunch in the conservatory. Used the old nifty fifty & converted to Mono. I'm still learning re Mono conversions of people, so do people think the highlights area tad too washed out in this shot ?

Being self critical I think a reflector would help reduce shadows around eyes & neck (or do you keep shadows around neck to emphasize the jaw line ?)

I give full credit to people who take shots of kids.....very hard work trying to keep their attention

The exposure is spot on Dave and the shadows are gentle gradients rather than the harsh lines so thats fine as well.

I think you hit the nail on the head with your own comment about being self critical
