Re: 'Til death do us part...
Two things came to mind:
1) The colors are great. I really had to look at it and decide if it was a composed PS shot, but being from the NE, I know this is possible to see. 2) I have an ice fishing trip in 4 weeks and I hope we have enough ice! Swans on ice makes me a little concerned about having enough cold weather! Nice shot! |

Re: 'Til death do us part...
I'm from Oz and a pond/lake like this would be very rare so I'm feeling like a lovely tranquil scene has been a bit spoiled by photo manipulation

Re: 'Til death do us part...
Not sure I agree any substantial manipulation has gone on here.
I think this photo absolutely depicts what you set out to capture. I would have been keen to see more of the background, maybe a glimmer of sky, although looking at it again I think you're probably right to have kept it as is to really emphasise the difference in tones between swans and landscape. Simple, bold, striking. Love it. |

Re: 'Til death do us part...
It's a great comp but I too am having problems with that processing - maybe less intense blue or maybe even back to the original

Re: 'Til death do us part...
They are both looking at something and that is making me think ,whats on the left hand side of the shot?

Re: 'Til death do us part...
At first wasnt keen on the blue but after looking again a few more times its growing on me and I think it mgiht hve been just because it was unexpected and vibrant. Really like it.

A great capture and great composition but Im afraid the blue snow/ice doesn't work for me, but then what do I know, im an idiot that suffers from paranoid delusions of grandeur.

![]() Interesting shot, and also I would believe that this was what it looked like, but I think this might be a case where we don't want to see what was really there cos we aren't comfortable with it. Maybe tone it down a little...? |

Re: 'Til death do us part...
I really like the shot but agree that the blue appears a little overcooked... even if it looked just like that at the time. The general feeling of it and composition are lovely, though, IMHO.

Re: 'Til death do us part...
Think the blue looks a little overcooked as there is no reflection of it on the birds, which there would be in a natural colour cast.

Re: 'Til death do us part...
It has been fascinating seeing your keen observations and interesting theories regarding this image. A few of you are almost partially correct regarding a portion of your comments.

Re: 'Til death do us part...
I like the concept, I quite like the colour, but the swans look pasted on to me.
