Tip of the Iceberg
Another image of the Denver Art Museum. I asked a guard....there is no art displayed in the tip...it is "just" architectural.
I tried mono here too, but there was just not enough tonal range, no matter how I adjusted it. So, I think that this works well. CnC badly wanted, as always. skip ![]() |

Re: Tip of the Iceberg
I've already commented in the gallery, but a really good less is more picture with so many diagonals to lead the eye to the tip of the building.
The sky sets it off perfectly, and I wonder if it might be worth adding more sky to the RHS and top to give a lot more space for the eye to be drawn to? In the meantime, here is the easiest pimp I've done - just to give a different slant - if you will pardon the pun! ![]() |

Re: Tip of the Iceberg
Could not resist trying my suggestion! Noticed that I've clipped the tip of the building, but can't be bothered to go back and do it again - you can see the idea from this one.

Re: Tip of the Iceberg
the contrast of the ice berg and the sky is lovely...... but to be honest the image in itself doesnt do a lot for me, there is no story that i can see to it so it doesnt invoke the imagination........ sorry Skip

Re: Tip of the Iceberg
The different slant is upside down and disorienting.
Maybe your second pimp is better, Dab. I specifically set the tip where it is in the frame in camera, but perhaps here more sky is better. What does everyone else think? There is absolutely no story here, Fi. It is purely a study in form, an intellectual exercise. (If you believe that, I have some undeveloped land I would like to sell to you )skip |

Re: Tip of the Iceberg
Love the shape and form, especially against that simple blue sky - my kind of shot!
Not really because it needed it, but more because I can! ![]() Gradient layer, levels is all |

Re: Tip of the Iceberg

EDIT: Skip, trying to play with it, but at 19kb, there is absolutely nothing doing....why so low res? Last edited by JMitchell : 20-08-2007 at 01:32. |

Re: Tip of the Iceberg
I like the fact that you can't figure out where this is coming from. I do like the way Mark darkened the sky.
