Tulip Macro

Took this one yesterday, and tried to do something a little bit different than the normal macro. Lit with off cam SB800, not much processing.
Thoughts, comments and crit appreciated

Re: Tulip Macro

I like this one Jack - except the green leaf! For this shot I think just the flower is enough.

The detail on the petals is good, as is the lighting and exposure - it's just that leaf......

Re: Tulip Macro

That's interesting, I thought it added a bit of variation to the single colour.

Re: Tulip Macro

Maybe if it did not go across the front of the flower? More to the side would give some variation without 'obstructing' it.

I still think without the leaf, but that's just me - others might think differently.

Re: Tulip Macro

I like it, I also like the green and the lighting, I'm not keen on the crop, prefer to see more of the flower and possibly a bit of stem.

Re: Tulip Macro

Thanks for the replies, Graham I can see what you mean but I still disagree
Summer, they were in a bunch that I didn't want to mess up, so I just pulled it up as far as it would go so the other flowers weren't in the way. I'll try and get one on it's own soon, to you can get to see the stem too

Thanks Woody and LTAL
