Re: Turnberry
Ilike it too fiona. If you crop the rocks to just below the central pool the rroportion of rock to sky to water is ithink improved Also the impression of width rather than height suits the scene.

Re: Turnberry
Well, personally, looking at the original my eye is not drawn to any particular part of the image and the highlight is burned
![]() Processed to B/W as there's not much colour, it brings out the interesting rock textures and the burned highlights are not quite so obtrusive. Dodged the FG rocks to bring out texture more. Cropped to put pool on 1/3rds and made sky/skyline nearer to 1/3rds and remove other pool in RH bottom corner A personal view but hope that helps and if anyone, thinking peer-wise, wants to call me 'Your Lordship', please feel free! ![]()

Re: Turnberry
Not sure about "Your Lordship", but i do like the improvements you've made to fionaB's already very nicely framed image. The only thing i would suggest is to maybe re-introduce a little of the original colour back into the B+W version. I have had a quick go, but withe the help of grad layers etc, it can be done a lot more effectively but just to give you an idea (i think this subtle colour thing is a phase i am going through at the moment). I think maybe i've put a little too much colour back into this one, but will do for demonstration purposes!

Re: Turnberry
I am new on the site, but I think that Your Lordship turned a really good image into an excellent one. When I looked at the first image, I didn't even THINK of BW conversion. You are an artist.
Way to go sir. skip |
