Re: Water fall
I'm quite attracted to the mono, the flowing water is white rather than gold. The main falls are burnt out, so maybe there is some better processing to be had as the colour one seems less so, and the tonal range looks a bit limited.
I know Mark will say that this is how it is with the peat and other stuff colouring the water, but I still think that waterfalls are better with white (or whit-er) water. I'd like to see both re-processed, the mono to reduce the burnt-out bits and the colour to whiten the water. From a composition POV, I think the top of the frame could have included the tops of the rocks in view. Nice shot, all the same

Re: Water fall
I'm hard-pushed to choose either but I think I'm edging toward the colour - the mono just looks a little flatter in comparison. But a super shot

![]() Not keen on the burned highlights nor the amount of black - both would benefit from detail but the comp looks pretty good to me! Oh, and in colour as the mono's coming over as very contrasty |

Re: Water fall
I would go with the mono. Not much to add to the comments

Re: Water fall
I prefer the colour version, you can see more detail in the rocks etc

Re: Water fall
I'd go with the colored one. My eye is more drawn to the flow of the water over each rock trying to figure out which sequence it falls in. In the mono one the water seems to stand still for me.
As for the gold colored water. Yeah its gold, but I' have seen water that color. Maybe tone it down just a tad. ~~~Mary |
