Re: Water Tower
I like the idea and the perspective works but I do think that rectangular section is doing you no favours as it's throwing off the balance/symmetry and I'd also prefer to be away from the ladder a little more to show that better.
Think that the blue could be tweaked to find a better shade (darken, bluer, touch more saturated). All of which sounds as if I'm not keen - not true, as I think it all works pretty well as is!

Re: Water Tower
I like all your imput Markulous. The rectangle in the picture is the locked gate closing off the steps. Hummm....I will have to return and take a look at it again. Maybe I can get a picture with out the rectangle. I was having a problem getting the picture anyway because I'm just to dang short
. I know...I will bring a stool . Thanks for your thoughts~~~~~dogdots

Re: Water Tower
Yeah what Graham said, or compromise, use a tele lens, and zoom past the rectangle and look up a little more

Re: Water Tower
Yes, I can safely get the shot thru the rectangle opening--gotta stand on a stool--. I used my 24-105 lens because I like how the pictures turn out with this lens better then my zoom. I will try the shot with the zoom when I go back there which I hope is this week-end. I wanted to climb up there and get some shots of the town. I did think about going in above this rectangle piece.

Re: Water Tower
I would go more telephoto rather than wide angle. This has a foreshortening effect which would work well here. Definitely get up through the locked gate part so the eye is unemcumbered with the bar going straight across and spoiling the lines of the rest of the image.
Try taking some at an angle as well, i.e. turn the camera 45 degrees so that we get a more dynamic image. I think that would work well too. Let's see more of what you get :o) Cheers, Rob |
