Re: water water everywhere
It's a sharp shot and there's still plenty of detail in the dark leafy areas which is good.
My main thought is that this is a location to return to in the autumn, my eye's being lead towards the little shack nestling in the trees and I'd like to see a bit more of it to make it a focal point maybe if the trees had shed their leaves a bit, also some autumnal colour wouldn't go a miss. You've caught the water well, perhaps a touch longer on the exposure but I like the fact that it's not completely motion blurred as that would make it go very smooth and I think the "frothing" gives you a better feeling of the force of the water. cheers Dan

Re: water water everywhere
Yep I'd echo the above comments. Especially re the choice of shutter speed. Just right imo.
I'd probably turn about 15 degrees clockwise, putting the hut on a third and cutting out the branches etc on the right in favour of more of the white foam. |

I like the shot. Its fun watching your shots improve every post. I agree with all the above, but I wonder how it would have looked if you had taken about 2 steps down stream and move the building to the left third. Thanks for the share |

Re: water water everywhere
Composition and technical emrit is fine. I would just reduce the saturation of the brown/yellow colour as it (sorry if you're eating here....) looks more like the overflow of a waste sewage pipe! Don't get me wrong, I know that is what was there but I can't say it makes the water look attractive. Maybe a mono would be interesting here?
Cheers, Rob |
