Re: Wool on the wire
Like the nice simple subject and the contrast of soft wool and spiky spikes works well - and good against the black BG. Think I might've preferred looking down the wire more, especially with the narrow(ish) DOF. Having said that, I like it as is - good alternative would be a B/W?

Re: Wool on the wire
Just wondering what cloning out the stray bit of fluff at the bottom would look like

Re: Wool on the wire
Like the deep black (assume you used a flash here ?). Sat here wondering if the wool should be brighter - still can't decide.
![]() One thing you could maybe do/try is get a tighter/closer up shot of a barb with the wool on it ? |

Re: Wool on the wire
That's an interesting: Summer was wondering whether to clone out the stray bit of fluff, i felt that bit of fluff helped enormously! I felt it stopped this all being on one line and giving just a little more interest to the composition. merit both ways of course so it'll be down to opinion and taste but that's what makes it good, there is more than one picture here

Re: Wool on the wire
Thank you everyone
![]() I had this one, the same image but taken portrait and one of another piece of wool without dangly bits. I couldn't decide between this and the portrait one - I felt the one without the extra fluff looked a little empty by comparison. Yes, flash was used. It was on our way back from a late afternoon walk and the light had faded. I tried it with and without, but much prefered the dark background the flash gave. I did wonder if B&W might work, shall give it go! |
