Re: Worth Matravers

It's a nice shot but has a slightly overdone hdr feel to it.

Re: Worth Matravers

It does look a bit like pushed HDR but that also makes it look like early colour glass plates, I keep coming back to look at it which can't be bad. The vivid, slightly overpowering tones make me feel like I'm there getting blown by the wind.

<sings> The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind.... <g>

Sorry <g> The picture is well composed but I agree with the others that it is either heavily HDRed or over-saturated making it look rather forced. I wonder if this could be down to Chris not having a calibrated monitor and just going a bit too far with it?

Like the composition though Chris, I#d be tempted to take two centimentres off the top and off the bottom and give it a more panorama type feel

Cheers,
Rob

Re: Worth Matravers

It's one of those HDR shots that's half way to being a painting, which isn't a criticism. Actually I like it as a composition and because there's plenty of detail to look into, but I'd crop some of the sky as there's not enough interest there.

Re: Worth Matravers

Excellent Comments.

I will try later cropping the sky as suggested to see.

What I did with it was HDR it in PhotoMatix. I was going for the slightly hyper comic book style ( but not too much I hope). I then cleaned and sharpened the result & boosted the saturation.

It may be over done saturation wise as it looks a bit more so on my work machine. Still am planning to replace my monitor soon as it is starting to wobble it's colours --good excuse to get a new larger one!
