Re: Zebra Longwing

What a great and unusual pose! Love the simplicity - maybe worth losing the greenery along the bottom

Re: Zebra Longwing

You cheat!

Meant more along these sort of lines (as I thought the proportions were great - added to the almost abstract quality)

Crop, Rotate, Clone out greenery, Border

Re: Zebra Longwing

Yeah, know what you mean! Sounds like Hardness of Clone Tool is set quite high - I put it to 0% usually (control is under Size). But do appreciate that it takes time to learn the technique that works best for you

You need to try to match the hard/softness of the bruch to match what you are cloning. In this case, very soft would be best. Then also vary the opacity to smooth out the edges.

Re: Zebra Longwing

nice shot ray. very difficult situation for showing it sharp but you have done it well. i like central composition here, it's good for this kind of photo. the only thing i don't really like is background colour. i know that it's not your fault - and i have the same problem, lot's of photos from butterfly world but with gray background. it's not natural but because of circumstances i have to say it's fine.
