Hi to all again, and thank you to those who helped me with some basics of Photoshop 8; this is actually working quite nicely and the "Beginner's level".

Now, I have another problem: when I use Elements 4 with the "Magic extractor", once I choose the areas to be kept/removed, it takes forever (I mean, really forever long) after I click the "Preview" button; last time, it took over 7 minutes to conclude the preview.
I wonder why that is because I have disabled the anti-virus pgm. while using Elements; I know that the actual Element program takes just a few seconds to load (open); I checked the Task Manager and the Element 4 process runs at over 50, and at 100,000 Kb, which seems a bit high.
My computer is as such:
MS Windows XP Fam.Ed. V. 5.1.2600 Serv. Pack 2 Nu 2600
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core processor; 2.30Ghz; 2 Gb RAM;
ATI Radeon XPress 1250 Graphic card;
Drive C ... 138GB free (out of 150GB)
Drive D ... 78GB free (out of 80GB) - used for storage and backups.

Any technical comments would be welcomed.

Hmmm, sounds as if it's running into probs (conflict of some sort?).

Maybe a fault with a DLL but it's one of those things impossible to track down. Could be worth installing Elements again (over the top) and maybe it'll sort it
