How to resize on cs3
This is probably not the correct forum but here goes:
Recently updated to photoshop cs3. In cs2, the save for web was sooooo easy. In cs3, I can get the pixel dimensions ok on the sides, but how does one adjust the total size now? The "quality" button just shows the ways to interpolate the up or downsizing. I can't adjust the total size up or down, keeping the same side dimensions. And I can't go back to cs2 to do it because it opens the same #$%^^&@$* save to web frame. Thanks skip |

Re: How to resize on cs3
First off resize as you are doing in Image/Image Size. Then, using File/Save for Web & Devices and the dialogue box will open. Select the Optimise Tab. I have captured the top right part of the box
![]() You can use the settings as shown. You will see a tiny arrow to the right of Preset, click that and you will have the option to select the optimum file size. A second option is to set your new Image Size and then File/Save As. A dialogue box will open allowing you to set the file size (roughly). If Saving for Web the image will lose it's metadata but Save As will retain it. HTH |

Re: How to resize on cs3
There is an excellent script on CS3 to do this. I often need to take a folder full of files (usually TIFF) and resize to 1024 by 768, convert to JPEG and convert to sRGB for competitions. The script "Image Processor" will do this in one. Your input files can even be RAW. You can output to JPEG, TIFF or PSD. You can find this :-
Tools>Photoshop>Image Processor from Bridge or File>Scripts>Image Processor from PS As far as I am aware, this is new to CS3. |
