Photo Manipulation Discuss how to sort out some bad metering!...well i cant seem to meter for toffee...can this one be shopped to give the face more detail?...

how to sort out some bad metering!

Course it can.

Most of the shot is exposed about right - it's just the head which is under-exposed so you need to deal with it separately either as a layer or what I've done -draw a tight mask around the head, feather by a few pixels. I then adjusted histogram and brightness just for the head.

Quickmasked & feathered 1pixel (not too accurately at this time of night) Cheated with Highlights and shadows - little sharpening of eyes. But left the poor chap with a bit of a moustache!

wow look at that! cheers guys thats brilliant, will have a little play with that tonight, love these guys, but the pen is awkward to shoot at, you have to either stand on tippytoes or shoot through glass, but tippytoes means you cant get the full shot, i had the barrel resting on the top of the fence, i needed a stool!

the problem with chessington is you cant really take a great big rucksack around and leave it here and there while your having your lunch churned around your guts, though to be fair, i havent taken the flash out the house yet, i dont want to get it dirty...
