Hi
I have a film scanner that I use to scan in my slide films. Now I'd like to try to HDR some of my bracketed shots from them. However the scanner will normally put an edge round the shot which is not always exactly in the same position of the scan. What I'd like to be able to do is to set a crop to the exact same size on the 3 or so images so I can use HDR, by cropping to the same size from the same photographic pixel in the images. I can't seem to find a way to set the crop to a size and use it on each of the images. Is there a way of doing this in photoshop ? |

Re: Photoshop Cropping
Just put all three images in the same image (for ease) and then create a standard rectangular selection and use the marquee tool to move it over the second and third slides, copying each as you go. At least I think that would work.

Re: Photoshop Cropping
To align images I would paste the images onto separate layers. Straighten them using the straighten tool. Then use "difference" mode to align them. You can use the arrow keys to move a layer until you get minimum edge enhancement effect from the difference. Do this a pixel for pixel in the most important area of the pic. Identical images go black when aligned. Once all aligned crop and save copies with each layer visible in turn. If you want to have a go at this and can not follow this ramble I'll add more detail.

Re: Photoshop Cropping
You can define the exact size of the marquee tool in Photoshop, then the top left corner of the selection ants will be where you click in the image. This is useful when you want several images the same size and shape.
