Photoshop CS3 help please...

Ok.. this is driving me nuts, but I know one of you will know i'm sure..

I'm just 'setting up' my CS3, and want it to automatically import my photos from my memory card reader. Well.. when I go to "Preferencs", then "General", under Behaviour where it should say, "When a camera is connected, Launch Adobe Photo Downloader", it's not there. My only option is, "Number of recent items to display".

So when I plug in my memory card reader, something else pops up and grabs my photos.. i'd like to disable this but can't figure it out..

Any help would be appreciated..

Thanks!!

Re: Photoshop CS3 help please...

I think it will be Adobe photo downloader that is grabbing your photos?

There is a way of setting this up on your pc somewhere...but I'm damned if I can remember where. Give me a few minutes and I will try to remember!

Re: Photoshop CS3 help please...

Sorry... I meant I wanted the pictures to be automatically imported into my Bridge. Hope this makes a bit more sense now..

Gonna explain what i'm doing here...

1. I open photoshop
2. Click the icon to go to my bridge
3. Hit "Preferences"
4. End up in 'General'
5. 1/2 way down in General it says "Behaviour". But in my book it's showing that I should be able to click "When a camera is connected, launch Adobe Photo Downloader".

But I can't check that, since it's not there to check.

Re: Photoshop CS3 help please...

Is it a CS3 book?

I think some functions have been moved around from CS2 to CS3.

If you are using Windows, when you plug in a card (or a CD of photos), there ought to be a dialogue box that gives a number of options and asks if you want Windows to do this every time.

I think you should be able to select the app you want to do this, even if it is not in the list displayed.

It's "The Adobe Photoshop CS3 Book" by Scott Kelby.. A box comes up but not sure if it's from Windows or not.. i'll try later and see if I can change my options.. but pretty sure it's from a different source.

This is getting frustrating.. lol!

Re: Photoshop CS3 help please...

Hello, if you copy all your photos to your pc by just dragging and dropping them, you can then use bridge to find where you saved them (e.g. My Pictures > New Pictures) and organise them from there. Could that be an option? or did you specifically want to control the saving of them through bridge?

What camera are you using? e.g. if you're using a canon you can use canon utilities to save all your photos quickly.
