Re: Pimp My Wife
Here is my offering - but no dodging or burning in this one.
![]() Cloned burnt areas with very low opacity (7 - 30%) and sampled from different places. Did this on seveal layers. New layer>levels and took gamma to RHS. Added layer mask and painted in everywhere except burnt part of hair. Flattened image>new layer selected eyes (eyebrow to cheekbone)>feather>levels gamma to lighten. Select whites of eyes>levels>gamma to lighten. Flatten>save. Not really happy with burnt area of cheek, but no doubt someone else will be able to sort it out better than me.

Re: Pimp My Wife
Converted to Mono using Channel Mixer at R40%, G30%, B30% (best for skin tones).
Ran image through noiseware with sharpness at -4, to get that softer feel to skin. Added "Curve" dragging top right of line up, to get that lighter look ![]() |

Re: Pimp My Wife
Thought I better try this colour malarky
![]() - Shadow/Highlights - Shadow set to 50% to reduce shadow impact - Noiseware twice as above - Smart Sharpen 100%, 1 Pixel to get sharpness back round eyes - Hue changed to reduce red in skin tone ![]() |

Re: Pimp My Wife
The trick is to use a very low opacity I normally keep it about 5 to 7% with a largish soft brush and then you can lighten or darken very subtly

Re: Pimp My Wife
Hiya BigBoy
I cant remember every exact steps, but the following is as far as I can remember. 1. I used the Healing Brush and Clone tool to remove a couple of small blemishes such as the scar on her lip and a few dots and spots. 2. Then I used a skin smoothing technique for blotchy skin which I found in my searches. I know this lady didnt have blotchy skin but i find it to be a very good skin smooting technique which keeps the natural look and skin texture, but again I cant remember where I found it and cant give credit to the person who made the tutorial, but from that I created an action. 3. Then with the dodge tool at 5% opacity and a soft brush and the range set at midtones, sweep over the darker areas to lighten them slightly. 4. Using curves to adjust the contrast firstly on the rgb channel, then on the red channel but be very slight on the red channel just needs a very small S curve adjustment otherwise you'll get some funky colour casts. 5. I added a black/blur vignette, which is a personal taste not everyone likes vignetting. And I think thats it basically, hope this helps. Wayne |
