# 2 son - garage portrait **Pics added**
I managed to get James to sit still for five minutes this morning as I tried some shots with him sitting on a stool in the garage doorway and using one reflector to enhance the natural light.
C&C welcome as always.

Re: # 2 son - garage portrait
Great expression there hacker
I like this - background too. I think the bit of red works well against the background colour too. |

Re: # 2 son - garage portrait
Don't you have a D300 Colin? It's not listed in your gear (sacrilege!)
Great shot btw, although I might not've dropped the saturation (or cooled the WB?) as much as you did... |

Re: # 2 son - garage portrait
Yes I do have a D300 but I forgot.....
This is as shot from the camera with just some PP work done on the eyes to make them pop a bit. I'm going to add a bit of saturation and get rid of the red mark on his lip. Thanks for the comments! |

Re: # 2 son - garage portrait
Aha. Yes actually now I think about it I noticed a very conservative feeling from the first shots I got from the D300 (er....yesterday
), but I notched up the saturation by 1 in the custom menu, and now it's a good starting point, so less to do in PP.

Re: # 2 son - garage portrait
Thanks everyone, here is another one from the same shoot but this time I have boosted the saturation slightly:

Re: # 2 son - garage portrait
The shot in your first post is the best - your sons steel-blue eyes, the slightly cooler white balance and the elements of blue bokeh all help give this photo an overall 'cool' feel.
If I were you I'd watermark this shot since it has commercial potential, even at the low resolution you've posted it at. |
