Above the clouds
We took time out on Sunday to go for the last hike of the season. Its been snowing on the high ground for a while now and due to the weather conditions it was predicted to be a low cloud base, it was an opportunity we couldn't miss. This particular mountain is 1986 mtrs tall and the last section of the climb was through snow up to and above our knees. We reached the summit after 3.5 hours and the decent took another 3, still I think the views and the photos I managed to take made the effort worthwhile.
I have a few photos from this hike, I'll throw more of them into this thread as I get time to process them. Hope you like

Wow. Look at that... stunning.
Some love the snow and other hate it - I'm with the 'love it' crew and get very excited at the prospect of the 14 flakes we see each winter.

Stunning view and shot. I as curious to see what the far mountains looked like so took the liberty of adjusting the levels
 It loses the foreground but it's difficult to have everything.

Cool shot of the cold stuff. Prefer the original shot to the level up. Prefer the subtler tones and added detail.

I must say i am with the original one here, the softer tones of the distant mountains give the picture more depth. it's beautifully composed and the lighting is lovely. I hate snow with a passion but I do like this picture, can i stick it on my Christmas Cards?
