I did some portraits with Alex & Ingrid, my next door neighbors.. This is what we came up with: -

Re: Alex & Ingrid
I like this set, OP. Always have liked this lighting.
I prefer the mono in the last two, but I suspect you are liking the warm tones. Both have their pros and cons. Either way I think that either cropping the arm out of the picture from the bottom or maybe cloning if you want to retain some of the length of the image improves it a lot. |

Re: Alex & Ingrid
I like the monos better.
For my taste, I prefer seeing just a tiny bit of the faces in the shadow. The contrast between seen and unseen is just too great for me, and I have trouble imagining the dark side of the figures. On the other hand, maybe that is what makes the impact of these images. Terrific job with simple lighting. I would really like to know your settings. Did you use a tripod? skip |

Re: Alex & Ingrid
Yeah tripod was a must. The hardest part was getting them to sit still
There's a lot of fuzzy pics ![]() e.g. ![]() Which is a pity coz I quite like it. It's only the first shot that's missing it's exif. Here it is: - Code:
Exposure time 1/8 s F-number f/9 Exposure program Aperture priority Metering mode Spot Focal length 70 mm Exposure mode Auto exposure White balance Auto white balance Focal length in 35mm film 105 mm If I wanted full face with a darker side I guess we could have setup a second, dimmer, lamp at the other side. |
