Alphanumeric Abstract
Couldn't decide which version to place in Critique section, so stuck them both here
Design by Three & half year old daughter ![]() ![]() ![]() First thoughts were prefer the B&W version over Colour version here, as I thought the colour distracted from the shapes / patterns. ...but then again What do others think ?Last edited by Dave : 08-01-2006 at 18:28. |

I agree with your assessment. B&W is the way to go.

Nice idea
![]() Agree that B&W is the better, the colour version looks a bit flat(seriously ) compared to the B&W which has more contrast. Also the background is less noticeable in the B&W version so more focus on the objects. Both good but definately the B&W for me |

Colour version would be better if the background was darker, IMHO.

Colour seems far to confusing - too many colours perhaps ?
B & W preferred as the four main grey shades are nicely mixed and the highlights well interspersed. |

As presented I prefer the b/w. Just boosted contrast in the colour version and now I prefer that.
So based on a laptop screen that I don't trust yet it seems like a loaded question ![]() |

as they are I prefer the black and white but I think if the colour one was more saturated I'd be leaning towards that

Out of the shots shown here the B&W version works the best but I have to agree with Catdaddy and say that if the colour shot was done on a darker background and then the colour saturation ramped up during post production, I can see that being a far better picture.

I'd agree with that too - the colour one is too pastel like for my own personal taste, a dark background would really bring the alphanumerics out!

I think the orange is a little overpowering and the background still not dark enough. It's a definate step in the right direction though

Yeah, I think the colour could be done better and would then outclass the B&W.
One thing that annoys me, and this is going to sound really picky and subjective, is the yellow '2' and 'j'* that are right next to each other at the bottom of the frame. They should be apart as they really distract me due to their shared colour. *At least I think it's a 'j'. Have you flipped the picture horizontally? |
