I am guessing you 'saw the light' and tested the lens handheld at F1.8 or used selective focus to create the effect you have gotten?.Either way,I like these 'revealing' sort of shots.When I started photography I was always captivated[still am
 ],when walking through woods/forests,by the shafts of light coming through the canopy onto the ground vegetation.Have fun using the new lens.Prime lenses makes you work a bit harder for the shot but take some beating for technical 'quality'.
