I had the pleasure of shooting Cattie (said as Cat-tee as in a *meow* cat), as I guessed she was welsh moved here a couple years ago. One of the most striking feature about her is the piercing and pink hair, she had her hair that color since she was 15.
She contacted me about two months back regarding a potential shoot since she had enjoyed most of my work leading up to yesterday, the idea I wished to try was something more Victorian/Elizabethan in style and to try a number of different formats with her. Usuaully I at least bring my digital and capture usually 25% of the shoot digitally the rest on a film body of my choice. Since my digital rebel broke on me for a second time in it's lifespan I have no digital this weekend. I figured this was not a problem I am comfortable enough with my cameras to be confident in what I am getting. Total Cameras used on this shoot (hey I wanted to have fun too :P) Graflex 4x5 Crown Graphic w/ Optar 135mm f/4.7 - Shot 4x5 Kodalith at ISO 12, and Polaroid 669 pack film (developed and scanned) Canon EOS-1 w/ Canon 50mm f/1.8 Mk II - Shot two rolls of Portra 400NC only some have been scanned Olympus Pen-FT w/ Zuiko 38mm f/1.8 - Ilford PanF+ 50 (yet to be developed) Mamiya RB67 w/ Mamiya-Sekor 90mm f/3.8C - Kodak Panatomic-X 120 roll shot at ISO 32 (yet to be developed) I develop my own B&W so I was able to get some scans up last night for the model to use for her portfolio promptly, but will get the rest done when I can. Here are some of the shots from yesterday. Polaroid scans ![]() ![]() ![]() Portra 400NC scans ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 4x5 Kodalith Scan (camera needed f/2 for ISO 12 with strobes, I couldn't get the strobes any brighter, and lens only opens to f/4.7, so I tray developed til decent enough to my eyes ![]() Needless to say she was quite happy with the shoot. Also when we collaborated on this, we decided on the dress design by bouncing back some ideas back and forth. She spent 40 hours making that dress based on blending two 1870s designs. She also does her own makeup, but had her best friend who is a certified hair stylist do her hair. Last edited by kb244; 30-07-2007 at 17:57. |

Re: Another model : Cattie
Very creative stuff, kb (well Cattie is certainly creative to begin with), with my favourite one by far being the close-up with mirror by tree, that one is excellent

Re: Another model : Cattie
A very interesting model kb. In the first set I really like the mono and the head and shoulders shots. What I missed in that set was a full-length shot diplaying all of that dress that she spent so long making. TBH, the pictures with the gun don't do much for me though.
In the second set, I like the angles and composition in #2 & 3. |

As mentioned before, not everything is scanned and I still got other rolls to develop. |

Re: Another model : Cattie
In the first set, I like the first one, the mirror and the mono the best. In the second set, the last one and the closeup are interesting.
The photographer and the model are extremely talented. It must have been a lot of fun to work together. skip |
