reminds me of the high dynamic range stuff ppl are doing,. really a nice tone and the dramtic sky works real nice

I absolutely love that Water, superb shot and treatment. The lines all work beautifully, the tones are excellent and the sky is fantastic.

Great piece of work that I'd happily have on my wall.

Cheers for the kind comments.This slide I passed over into the 'keep it anyway' category,but almost weeded out to the bin.It certainly does look better in mono than in colour.Just goes to show,maybe should automatically have a quick look in Channels at every shot in case a decent mono is hiding behind a dodgy colour shot!!.
fionaB,it is on a single track backroad at Edgehead [a mile from Pathead].In fact these fields are often visited by the flocks of migrating Barnacle Geese that stop over at Edinburghs reservoirs.

I'll echo the others, fabulous image!

One point to pick up on Water, you said you almost binned it because it didn't do much in colour. The way around this problem is to always review your images in terms of composition, interest, and good skies BEFORE being fooled by the colour. The colour of a colour image should ADD TO these other factors (unless it is a colour for colour's sake type image) and not be the first thing you notice. Not easy I know but with practice you get it quick enough, and hey, it's what all traditional mono photographers have always done!

Bet you've got more of these gems in your 'not sure' pile!
