These are not hand held surely? did you use a tripod or something firm and handy? Very nice both of them btw

Great impact placement of the fountain ... the people in the background are neither in focus nor out of focus enough perhaps ? And act as a distraction ... for me anyway. That said they are your shots, and I would be happy if they were mine ... for what that may be worth !

yep they are all hand held as its bad enough carrying the camera and len case, push chair, 2 kids and wife and shopping with out the tripod lol

Certainly makes the foreground stand out more and is easier on the eye in my humble opinion, but ... which do you prefer ?

What software are you using ?

i actually the second one, it stands out now instead looking a bit flat. As for software I`m using Photoshop C.S 2. But I only just started to use it so i am learning what every thing does. all part of the fun

There's your solution - put the wife and 2 kids down as they can walk for themselves, then let them carry everything except the camera.
