The first one stands out and resembles something you'd see in an old sci-fi film.

Yep. frog spawn

Red worm was a bit of a bonus.

Still got a lot to learn with macro. They are not bad but I want sharper!

First one is full frame. Other two are crops. Sigma 150mm.
They were in sunlight. I tried using flash in darker areas and did not get anywhere. thinking about fibre optic to get flash light to where its needed (being as I've got some fibre).

The 2nd shot would have been great if it was a tad sharper.

Not sure if it is me or just the fact it has that clear jelly that takes the edge off.
